This security setting determines which registry keys can be accessed over the network, regardless of the users or groups listed in the access control list (ACL) of the winreg registry key.

Caution

The security setting that appears on computers running Windows XP, "Network access: Remotely accessible registry paths" corresponds to the "Network access: Remotely accessible registry paths and subpaths" security option on members of the Windows Server 2003 family.
